He played a pivotal role in advising Amherst Pierpont Securities on its acquisition by Santander Holdings USA, a transaction valued at approximately $600 million. Additionally, Derrick co-led teams that provided counsel to CVS Health Corp. during its $10.6 billion acquisition of Oak Street Health and JetBlue Airways Corp. during its $3.8 billion acquisition of Spirit Airlines Inc.

Derrick is known for his expertise in guiding clients through intricate and high-profile public and private transactions, as well as handling minority investments, joint ventures, and corporate governance. He also represents investment banks as financial advisors in various M&A deals.
