Shearman & Sterling Ranks Highly in The Texas Lawbook’s 2023 Texas M&A Deal Table

Shearman & Sterling ranked highly in The Texas Lawbook’s Law Firm M&A Rankings table for 2023, illustrating the outstanding work of firm attorneys based Houston, Dallas and Austin. The firm finished the year in the top 10 among in all of the Lawbook’s categories for Texas-led and Texas related deals by total number and value.

The Texas Lawbook tracks the work of corporate attorneys based in Texas representing clients headquartered both within and outside the state.

In 2023, Shearman & Sterling attorneys advised buyers, sellers and targets of mergers and acquisition in deals with a total aggregate value of $13.1 billion. Firm attorneys also represented non-principals, including financial advisors, lenders and conflict committees in deals with an aggregate value of $23.1 billion.

The firm’s work in Texas in 2023 builds on strong performances in recent years. Shearman & Sterling deal teams have ranked in the top 10 in Texas for three consecutive years.
