Rohan Weerasinghe

Of Counsel

Rohan joined the global law firm in 1977, made partner in 1985, and became Senior Partner in 2005.

In June 2012, he joined Citi as General Counsel, a role he held for nearly a decade. Rohan returned to the firm as Of Counsel in 2023.

As a member of Citi’s Executive Management Team, Rohan oversaw Citi’s global legal team, and provided strategic direction to the Citigroup Board of Directors, its Chief Executive Officer and Executive Management Team on the most significant business, legal and reputational issues facing the firm globally.

For the 35 years he was at the firm, he advised and represented financial institutions, corporations, and sovereigns worldwide on matters including corporate governance and board of director advisory, complex financial and corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and financings and capital markets offerings.

As Senior Partner, he set the firm’s strategy and managed its global operations.

As Of Counsel, he is focusing on client relationship development and counseling clients at the highest level.

Rohan graduated from Harvard College in 1972 and received his M.B.A. and J.D. from Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School in 1977.
