LEVELLING THE INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION PLAYING FIELD: OUTCOME-RELATED FEE STRUCTURE REFORM IN HONG KONG AND SINGAPORE

Senior associate Edward M. Taylor (Hong Kong-International Arbitration) co-authored an article for the Asian Dispute Review titled “Levelling the International Arbitration Playing Field: Outcome-Related Fee Structure Reform in Hong Kong and Singapore.” The article considers legal reforms under way in both jurisdictions to allow parties to enter into outcome-related fee structures with their lawyers to fund arbitrations. The authors conclude that such reforms would be welcomed by arbitrating parties and help to ensure that Hong Kong and Singapore remain major hubs for international arbitration.
