Shearman & Sterling partnered with the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) and the Government of Quebec to host the 5th Current Trends in Mining Finance Conference, titled “Managing Through the Cycle, Investing for the Future.”

The conference took place in New York from April 30 – May 3 and focused on the outlook, trends and issues that affect capital raising in the global mining industry. More than 70 speakers at the conference and workshops presented case studies about how management and investors can employ best practices and technology to anticipate, track, manage and reduce technical and non-technical risks associated with mining projects worldwide. Experts also discussed trends, solutions, risks and where the opportunities exist.
