The HKVCA Asia Private Equity Forum 2019

Partner and Head of Greater China Lorna Chen (Hong Kong-Investment Funds) spoke on the panel “Regulation and Development of the Industry in Hong Kong” at the HKVCA Asia Private Equity Forum 2019 in Hong Kong on January 16, 2019. 

The panel of leading venture capital, private equity and industry practitioners addressed topics such as ways to improve Hong Kong becoming a major private equity hub under local rule restriction and key strategies leading to Hong Kong’s success as a base for regional private equity. Chris Sun, Deputy Secretary of the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) of the HKSAR Government, was among the panelists and spoke from the government perspective. There were also discussions about the ideal regulatory framework, structure of fund taxation and scope for listed private equity fund vehicles in Asia. 

The Asia Private Equity Forum is organized annually by the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HKVCA). This year’s conference featured more than 80 speakers and panelists discussing the changes and challenges in the emerging Asia market and was attended by more than 700 delegates.
