Partner Jennifer Younan, counsel Ilija Mitrev Penusliski and associate Marija Šobat (all Paris-International Arbitration) presented on International Arbitration and Industry 4.0 at the 2020 Kopaonik Business Forum titled “Industry 4.0 and Related Issues: The Challenges of the Future,” which took place in Kopaonik, Serbia on March 1-4, 2020.  

The Kopaonik Business Forum—dubbed the “Serbian Davos”—is one of the largest annual business and political fora in Southeast Europe, attracting former heads of states, incumbent government officials, diplomats, businesses, and international civil servants. This year’s forum had more than 1,200 participants discussing the future of the main industries in the Western Balkans, as well as the rise of Industry 4.0.

Our team introduced the firm and spoke on international arbitration in general, and noted that the features of flexibility, delocalization and specialization make international arbitration particularly suited to resolve Industry 4.0 disputes. They also discussed the benefits and limits of the use of artificial intelligence in international arbitration.
