On December 16, Partner Emmanuel Jacomy (Hong Kong-International Arbitration) participated in a panel session entitled “2022 ICSID Rules” at the 2022 Tokyo Forum on Dispute Resolution, co-organized by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) along with the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the Ministry of Justice of Japan.

Participants included a mix of practitioners, academics and government officials from all over the world.

The session focused on the overview of the 2022 Rules Amendment. Emmanuel explained that the 2022 revisions to the ICSID Additional Facility Rules address most of the criticisms often made against ICSID and put the Additional Facility Rules on par with -- and even more advanced than -- the UNCITRAL Rules for the resolution of investment disputes.
