Adam Hakki, global head of Shearman & Sterling’s Litigation group, was named the “2018 Securities Lawyer of the Year” for the entire United States by Benchmark Litigation, a leading guide to the top litigation firms and attorneys in the United States. Adam, one of six shortlisted lawyers, received the award at a ceremony held on February 15, 2018 in New York. He also won this award in 2016. Only one lawyer is selected nationally in each major area of litigation practice.
Adam was recognized for his work on a broad array of securities litigations and investigations, the high level of service he provides to all of his clients, as well as a series of courtroom victories in major cases.
“While I am grateful and humbled to have received this award,” Adam said, “I view it entirely as recognition of our securities litigation team, which is made up of exceptional partners, counsel and associates who work tirelessly and seamlessly for our clients. They are the best in the business, in my opinion, and we all share equally in whatever recognitions or successes come our way.”
Now in its 11th year of publication, Benchmark Litigation exclusively covers the litigation and disputes market in North America, encompassing the United States, Canada and Mexico. Nominees were chosen based upon research conducted between March and November 2017, including extensive interviews with litigators and their clients to identify the best attorneys in their respective practice areas and states.
