Shearman & Sterling continues to grow its Litigation practice with the arrival of Adam Schwartz, who joins the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office.

Adam is an accomplished former federal prosecutor with extensive trial and investigation experience representing corporations and individuals in a broad range of white collar criminal, congressional, regulatory and internal investigations and litigation matters, including fraud, securities, commodities, antitrust, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act, AML and sanctions matters across an array of industries.

Prior to joining Shearman & Sterling, Adam practiced in the Litigation department of another major law firm. Previously, he was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. A U.S. military veteran, Adam had previously served as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

Adam is the latest in a string of recent high-impact and diverse litigation hires, including that of partners Ben Gris, a former Assistant Director of the Mergers II Division of the Bureau of Competition at the Federal Trade Commission, experienced intellectual property trial attorney Kieran Kieckhefer, top securities litigator Lyle Roberts, and investigations lawyer Sara Raisner, a former enforcer with FINRA.
