Shearman & Sterling Grows Private Equity Offering with US Hires

Global law firm Shearman & Sterling today announces the appointment of Christopher Zochowski and Bradley Noojin as partners in the U.S. private equity team based in Washington, D.C.

Chris Zochowski has a diverse transactional private equity practice, and his extensive experience spans mergers & acquisitions (M&A), capital markets and other transactional areas, including with regard to SPACs and other permanent capital vehicles. Chris has wide-ranging expertise advising clients on cross-border and domestic transactions across a broad range of industries. Brad Noojin works closely with Chris and has a varied range of experience in corporate and transactional matters, with an emphasis on M&A, securities offerings, permanent capital, and other strategic transactions.

“Chris’ deep technical knowledge, unique skillset and extensive expertise across private equity, M&A and Capital Markets will bolster our existing offering. Together with Brad, their skills and experience will augment our private equity platform,” said David Beveridge, Senior Partner at Shearman & Sterling. “Chris and Brad will play an integral role in the growth of our U.S. private equity team and its long-term success. Their hires are part of our ongoing global strategy to drive the right business mix and reshape the firm to align with market opportunities.”

Chris Zochowski added, “I am thrilled to be joining a global law firm focused on growing its corporate and private equity platforms, as well as one that has deeply established M&A and Capital Markets practices to continue to serve my existing clients. I can speak for both Brad and I when I say that we look forward to working with the broader team to help our clients capitalize on the extensive capabilities that Shearman has to offer, while also helping to grow Shearman’s U.S. and global private equity offering.”

Shearman & Sterling has continued to expand core practice areas with numerous lateral hires globally since January. Chris and Brad’s appointments follow the hire of Mark Shapiro as a partner and Chairman of the Financial Restructuring & Insolvency group in New York, Sanjeev Dhuna as Leveraged Finance partner based in London, and Daniel Tristian a Finance partner in Houston. Prior to joining Shearman & Sterling, Chris and Brad were partners at Winston & Strawn LLP where Chris was co-Chair of the firm’s M&A practice and had a leading role in the firm’s SPAC and Permanent Capital Practice.
