Counsel Edward Taylor (Hong Kong-International Arbitration) was recently invited to join the Hong Kong Task Force of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (the “CIETAC”). The Task Force has been established to contribute to the revision of CIETAC’s Arbitration Rules 2015. Edward’s submissions, which focused on interim measures, emergency arbitration and arbitration funding issues in Hong Kong, were filed with CIETAC on July 4, 2022.

CIETAC is the main permanent arbitration institution in Mainland China and one of the oldest and busiest arbitration institutions in the world. CIETAC Hong Kong Arbitration Center is CIETAC’s first sub-commission outside Mainland China. It is committed to promoting arbitration services in Hong Kong and cooperating with other arbitral institutions.
