Shearman & Sterling was a sponsor of the InfraAmericas US P3 Infrastructure Forum 2016, which took place at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. Counsel Paul Epstein (New York-Project Development & Finance) moderated a panel titled “Railway P3s and the Expansion of the US Transportation Sector,” which highlighted the Purple Line light rail project that closed last week and on which Shearman & Sterling advised. The event focused on the expansion of the P3 market in the last 12 months, including discussions of legislative developments such as the enactment of Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act in 2015, various approaches to P3 procurements, the changing role of equity, and deal activity in relevant states and sectors. More than 500 delegates attended.
