Reena Sahni (New York-Financial Institutions Advisory & Financial Regulatory), Thomas Donegan (London-Financial Institutions Advisory & Financial Regulatory) and Kolja Stehl (London/Frankfurt-Financial Institutions Advisory & Financial Regulatory) spoke at the European Recovery and Resolution Summit on July 5-6, 2016 in Frankfurt, Germany.

With the BRRD now effective, the SRB operational, and regulators consulting on MREL–Europe is at a critical junction between policy and implementation for recovery and resolution professionals. Sponsored by Shearman & Sterling, this two-day conference brought together industry experts, Europe's regulators and banks to cover the latest guidance and technical insights on the BRRD, MREL, Recovery Plans, and Bail-in.

Stehl provided a legal case study of resolution proceedings under National Resolution Regimes and the BRRD in practice, and Donegan provided an overview on the Contractual Recognition of Bail-in and Resolution Stays. Sahni provided the US angle on the panel discussing Recovery Planning Challenges and 2016 Submission. The panel focused on identifying RRP priorities from the regulators, key challenges in writing plans and preparing for submission for 2016.
