Bank Resolution Regimes – What's Next?

  • London
Barney Reynolds, partner and head of the global Financial Institutions Advisory & Financial Regulatory Group, spoke at the UCL Faculty of Laws Events conference titled "Bank Resolution Regimes – What's Next?" on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.

This one-day event will explored the evolution of international and national regulatory bank resolution frameworks that were created following the 2007 global financial crisis, with a view to ensuring that when banks fail they do so in an orderly manner. The conference brought together academics, practitioners and regulators to discuss different perspectives in establishing a bank resolution regime.  The keynote speech was given by Andrew Gracie, Bank of England.

Reynolds spoke on a panel which discussed "Loss-Absorbing Capacity in Resolution.”  Other panelists included Eva Hupkes, Financial Stability Board; Professor Dalvinder Singh, University of Warwick; and Sook Leen Seah, Nomura International.
