The Clearing House Annual Conference

  • New York City
Barney Reynolds (London), partner and head of the global Financial Institutions Advisory & Financial Regulatory Group, participated in a panel at The Clearing House’s Annual Conference in New York. The conference, held from November 28-30, 2016, provided a forum for the industry’s leaders to examine the changing financial regulatory landscape and the dynamic world of evolving payments technology in the post-Dodd-Frank era. The two-and-a-half-day event featured keynote speakers and in-depth expert panels on today’s most pressing issues for commercial banks.

Reynolds participated on a panel entitled "Trans-Atlantic Perspectives on Bank Regulation,” which provided an interesting insight into the often divergent regulatory standards and frameworks that national regulators across the Trans-Atlantic region have adopted since the financial crisis, and how these differ not only from each other but also from US regulatory standards. Other panelists included Francesca Carlesi (Global Head of Group Regulatory Affairs, Deutsche Bank), James L. Chew, Global Head, Regulatory Policy, Group Government Affairs, HSBC Holdings plc), D. Wilson Ervin (Vice Chairman, Group Executive Office, Credit Suisse) and Mario Nava (Director, Financial System Surveillance and Crisis Management, European Commission).
