On December 5, the Tax practice hosted its Annual Tax Conference and Year-End Celebration at Shearman & Sterling's New York office. This event continues to be a huge success, with more than 120 clients from financial institutions, corporations, and investment firms in attendance. 

Menlo Park partner Larry Crouch added, “Attendees were engaged throughout the program as panelists walked them through potential implications of the House and Senate Tax bills on their businesses.”

Speakers from Shearman & Sterling (Menlo Park, New York and Washington, DC offices), as well as from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays, Citigroup and Duke University, participated.

The conference featured a total of six panel discussions covering recent developments and other issues of interest in areas of U.S. federal tax and global taxation including ethics, corporate transactions, spin-offs, financial products and tax litigation. This was followed by a cocktail reception, raffle and speakers’ dinner.
