Shearman & Sterling Hosts Big Data Presentation for Private Fund Managers

Shearman & Sterling, in association with the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), hosted an educational breakfast presentation for private fund managers on January 24, 2018. Partner Mark Lanpher (Washington, DC-Litigation) and counsel Ted Randolph (New York-Investment Funds) spoke on “Big Data: Legal and Compliance Case Studies for Private Fund Managers.” Their interactive session explored a series of case studies designed to highlight key compliance and legal issues inherent in the adoption of big data and artificial intelligence strategies.  Topics ranged from data protection to data ownership and licensing and from antitrust to insider information and cross-border regulation.
