Shearman & Sterling hosted an Anti-Corruption and Crisis Management Seminar and Reception in Lima, Peru on March 8th.  The seminar was attended by senior legal professionals from major banks, companies and law firms in Lima. 

Philip Urofsky (Washington, DC-Litigation), Danforth Newcomb (New York-Litigation), Cynthia Urda Kassis (New York-Project Development & Finance), Manuel Orillac and Antonia Stolper (both New York-Capital Markets) provided a summary of the principal U.S. and other legal principles underlying government investigations, together with an overview of recent reported cases and key developments. Our panelists guided guests through the best practices to manage and react to a corruption crisis, including the pros and cons of self-reporting.

The discussion was followed by a cocktail reception.
