Upwards of 275 delegates attended the conference, including officers from more than 40 mining and exploration companies as well as bankers, investors, analysts, advisers, engineers and high level government officials. Such delegates represented a global cross-section of industry leaders, with more than 70% of the attendees having traveled from Angola, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

There were nearly 30 panels, four workshops, three evening receptions and several keynote speakers, including the President and CEO of HECLA Mining Company and the Mexican Under Secretary of Mining, Ministry of Economy. In addition, Shearman & Sterling partner Tricia Hammes moderated Bankers’ Views of Capital Markets and Mine Financing; partner Cynthia Urda Kassis presented on Alternative Sources of Capital; and counsel Anthony Lepere addressed legal pitfalls to avoid when dealing with complex financing, particularly in lesser developed economies.

The event attracted significant media attention, including from the Wall Street Journal as well as media partners Mining Journal, Miners News, GBR, mining.com, Canadian Mining Journal, The Mining Record and The Northern Miner, and received active social media attention on LinkedIn and Twitter.
