Shearman & Sterling Supports 32nd Annual National Equal Justice Awards Dinner

Shearman & Sterling participated in the 32nd Annual National Equal Justice Awards Dinner, held in New York City on November 1 and sponsored by the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF). Under the theme “Justice Equality Democracy,” the dinner highlighted the organization’s past work in championing civil rights and honored several pillars of the social justice movement. Marian Wright Edelman, The Honorable U.W. Clemon and Bryan Stevenson were among the honorees lauded by the night’s presenters, including LDF President & Director-Counsel Sherrilyn Ifill and Merck CEO Kenneth Frazier. Partners Antonia Stolper (New York-Capital Markets) and Paula Howell Anderson (New York-Litigation), along with law clerk Mark A. Dunham, Jr. (New York-Corporate), participated in the event, which was attended by nearly 1000 legal and other professionals.

For more than 75 years, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. has worked diligently to challenge issues that go against fundamental civil and human rights. The annual National Equal Justice Awards Dinner celebrates individuals who are driven by the same principles of equality and justice.
