Partner Yas Banifatemi (Paris-International Arbitration) delivered the keynote speech entitled “Changed Circumstances and Treaty Arbitration” at the 31st Annual Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA) Workshop and Annual Meeting in Dallas on June 20, 2019. Her keynote surveyed and analyzed recent trends, including the energy sector in Europe.
The 31st Annual ITA Workshop and Annual Meeting is one of the leading conferences in international arbitration in the United States, and features many prominent practitioners and academics in the field. The three-day event included a series of presentations and discussions addressing current developments and trending topics in commercial and investment treaty arbitration.
Yas teaches at Harvard Law School, Yale Law School and Panthéon-Sorbonne University. She practices in the areas of international arbitration and public international law, and has authored numerous publications in, and regularly speaks about, both these fields. She has been described as “one of the best technicians in the international investment arbitration field.”
