Shearman & Sterling Convenes Panel with the Global Blockchain Business Council

Shearman & Sterling and the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) convened a panel discussion on the world’s most talked about digital assets, stablecoins, on Monday, November 4 from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at Shearman & Sterling’s New York office.

A number of companies, particularly those in the banking and technology sectors, have announced or discussed plans to launch their own stablecoins, typically to be used as either a medium of exchange or for trade settlement. However, these digital assets have sparked global debate and attracted significant attention from governments and regulators around the world. 

The panel discussed the impetus for companies launching enterprise digital assets and the regulatory challenges that follow, as well as what is in store for the future of stablecoins.
