Partner Adam Schwartz (Washington, D.C.-Litigation) participated in the DC Bar webinar titled, “Representing Clients in White Collar Criminal Investigations” on October 6, 2020 from 6 pm – 8:15 pm. This program provided an overview of representing an individual or company during a white collar criminal investigation. The panel focused on the pretrial investigative stage, including grand jury investigations and negotiations with the government to avoid indictment. The webinar also offered guidance for representing clients who face parallel civil and criminal investigations.  Attendees learned about special concerns that arise when representing a company or an individual under investigation, including attorney-client privilege and ethical issues. This program was designed for attorneys who are new to a white collar practice, and for in-house counsel who need to know the basics of such investigations.
