Disputes between Cambodian and Chinese Parties

  • Webinar

Since 2019, there has been a rapid increase in trade and investment between China and Cambodia. In addition, China and Cambodia signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on October 12, 2020 that is expected to further strengthen bilateral economic ties and make Cambodia an integral part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative in Southeast Asia. These developments may lead to an increase in disputes between Chinese and Cambodian entities or entities operating in Cambodia.

During the webinar on January 25, partner Emmanuel Jacomy (Beijing/Singapore-International Arbitration) and Bun & Associates partner Youdy Bun discussed the following topics:

  • What are the peculiarities of disputes involving Chinese parties?
  • What are the recent developments in the legal frameworks of China and Cambodia that are relevant to such disputes?
  • How to best prepare for, and successfully resolve those disputes?
