New York capital markets partner Lisa Jacobs was recently recognized as a 15 Year Circle volunteer by Lawyers Alliance for New York. The 15 Year Circle is comprised of more than 60 current and recent volunteers whose pro bono work through Lawyers Alliance spans at least the last 15 years and in many instances began much earlier. Over the past decades, volunteers from the 15 Year Circle have applied their legal skills and expertise to more than 475 matters for 400 clients.
“I feel very strongly that lawyers should give back to the communities in which they work and live,” says Jacobs, who has worked on a wide variety of pro bono projects for Lawyers Alliance. “Lawyers Alliance has given me the opportunity to help people one-on-one, and that’s something that’s always been very important to me.”
Based in New York City, Lawyers Alliance for New York is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people in low-income communities throughout the city. Each year the organization’s legal staff, joined by more than 1,500 volunteer attorneys from more than 125 law firms and corporate legal departments, serves thousands of nonprofits working in all five boroughs.
