Shearman & Sterling Advises on Albemarle Corporation’s €700 Million Notes Offerings

Shearman & Sterling represented Albemarle Corporation in connection with a notes offering consisting of €700 million aggregate principal amount of 1.875% notes due 2021. The notes are listed on the Irish Stock Exchange. The notes were offered outside the United States pursuant to Regulation S under the Securities Act.

Albemarle intends to use the net proceeds from the offering, together with borrowings, to finance the aggregate cash consideration of the previously announced acquisition of Rockwood Holdings, Inc.
