Partner Claudius Sokenu (New York & Washington, DC-Litigation) was recently profiled in Law360's Minority Powerbrokers Q&A Series. As a participant in the series, Sokenu shared his perspective on being a lawyer of color at a law firm and points to the important role mentors have played in his career. Without these mentors, he says, “it is highly doubtful that I would have made it this far.” He also notes that clients increasingly look for diversity in retaining outside counsel, but regardless of the motivation, “investing in the recruitment, retention and promotion of diverse candidates is a societal good and a business imperative.”
