Shearman & Sterling is delighted to announce that global International Arbitration leader and Paris managing partner Emmanuel Gaillard received the “Outstanding Contribution Award” at The Chambers Europe Awards 2015.
Chambers offered the following tribute when presenting the award: “An undisputed star in the field of arbitration, Emmanuel Gaillard is the founder and head of Shearman & Sterling's market-leading International Arbitration group. He is revered for his experience in both commercial and investment treaty arbitration, and also acts as arbitrator and expert witness. Gaillard’s outstanding contribution to the legal profession further continues in academic work. Professor of Law in France, Gaillard currently acts as Visiting Professor of Law at Yale Law School, where he teaches international commercial arbitration. Gaillard’s celebrity status extends beyond the court room walls and in 2014 he was once again the only lawyer to be named in Vanity Fair France's list of the '50 Most Influential French People in the World.’”
