Shearman & Sterling acted as legal advisor for L-GAM Advisers LLP and funds advised by L-GAM Advisers LLP in the acquisition of FAIST ChemTec-Group as well as on the financing of the acquisition. The transaction was closed on April 10.

FAIST ChemTec (FCT) is a global leader for specialty engineered products for reducing structure-borne sound for the automotive industry and manufacturers of domestic appliances. In addition, the group supplies the construction industry with products for sealing and impact sound insulation. Besides its headquarters in Worms, FCT has further production sites in Germany, Poland, Spain and the US.

L-GAM is a long-term investment firm based in London with a focus on European mid-sized companies with growth potential. FAIST ChemTec is L-GAM’s first investment in Germany. By buying the German supplier, L-GAM expands its activities in the industrial sector.
