Shearman & Sterling received the Asia Pacific Mining Deal of the Year from Project Finance International (PFI) for its work on the Oyu Tolgoi copper and gold project in Mongolia — one of the largest mining lending deals in 2015. The firm recently received the Americas Transportation Deal of the Year from PFI as well for its work on the debt financing for IFM Investors’ acquisition of the Indiana Toll Road. The PFI Awards honor achievement and ingenuity in the global project finance market.
“We are honored to be recognized by this leading project finance publication,” said Bill McCormack, global head of the firm’s Project Development & Finance Group. “This accolade is a validation of Shearman & Sterling’s leadership in advising clients on some of the largest and most complex deals across the globe.”
The awards will be presented at the 2015 PFI Awards Dinner, taking place at The Hilton, London, on February 3, 2016.
