Shearman & Sterling’s Project Development & Finance team dominated the global transportation sector in Q1 2016, according to IJGlobal League Tables. In addition to advising on the largest project finance transaction worldwide, the Chicago Skyway Toll Road Concession Company Acquisition PPP, the firm ranked as No. 2 Legal Adviser in Transportation.
“We are proud of the Firm’s infrastructure/transportation resume; our role in the bank/bond financings on both the recently closed Chicago Skyway Toll Road financing and the $5.8 billion Indiana Toll Road from 2015, makes Shearman the only firm that has had a major role in the two largest U.S. infrastructure deals over the last 12 months,” said Gregory Tan, Deputy Head of the Project Development & Finance Group and lead partner on the Indiana Toll Road transaction.
“We lead not only in roads but across all transportation subsectors,” said Bill McCormack, Head of the Group and lead partner advising Light Rail Manila Corporation on the development and financing of the Light Rail Transit 1 Cavite Extension Project, one of the largest infrastructure project financings in the Philippines to date. “And we are working on two additional high profile rail projects in the U.S.”
