Shearman & Sterling Ranked Among Top Pro Bono Law Firms by The American Lawyer

Shearman & Sterling achieved high rankings in The American Lawyer’s latest Pro Bono Survey. The firm received the top ranking in breadth of commitment, as measured by the percentage of U.S.-based lawyers who performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work in 2016. In the last survey, the firm was ranked third in this category. The firm also performed well in national pro bono (measuring the average number of pro bono hours per U.S.-based lawyer in 2016 and the percentage of U.S.-based lawyers who performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work), rising from number 15 to eight. In the International Pro Bono category, which measures pro bono work performed by non-U.S. lawyers, the firm continued its positive trajectory -- rising seven places to number 33.
