Cook Named to the National Law Journal's 2017 D.C. Rising Stars List

Shearman & Sterling counsel Helen Cook (Washington, D.C.-Project Development & Finance) has been named to the National Law Journal’s 2017 D.C. Rising Stars list. The list recognizes the Washington, D.C. area’s 40 most promising lawyers age 40 and under who have wielded great influence in their practice areas, are innovators, have developed unique practice niches, demonstrated strong leadership qualities, shown expertise in litigation or transactional work and committed themselves to pro bono, charitable and professional volunteer work.

Helen is recognized as a nuclear law expert by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and is the Chair of the World Nuclear Association’s Law Working Group. The NLJ feature highlights Helen’s reflections on her career and accomplishments, including the publication of her book, The Law of Nuclear Energy (Sweet & Maxwell 2013), as well as the most valuable lesson learned in her first year of practice and thoughts on achieving success.
