Shearman & Sterling partner Nils Eliasson (Hong Kong-International Arbitration) has been appointed Chair of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) Rules Revision Committee.
Nils, along with members of the HKIAC Rules Revision Committee, will be leading the process of revising the current version of HKIAC’s Administered Arbitration Rules, which came into force on November 1, 2013, including a public consultation process on the proposed amendments that which was launched on August 29, 2017. The major amendments proposed by the Committee at this stage include:
