Global Investigations Practice Ranked No. 14 in the GIR 100

Shearman & Sterling’s excellence in investigations was once again recognized by Global Investigations Review (GIR), which ranked the firm No. 14 in the 2017 edition of the GIR 100, a guide to the world’s leading firms for corporate investigations.

According to GIR, the GIR 100 is an “annual guide to the world’s leading cross-border investigations practices.” Each firm is included based on extensive research which demonstrates the firm’s ability “to handle sophisticated cross-border government-led and internal investigations.”

“We are pleased that GIR has again recognized our team as one of the world’s best for global investigations and believe it is reflective of our deep team, experience and capability in numerous global jurisdictions” said Adam Hakki, global head of the firm’s Litigation practice.

This year, the firm’s profile notes that “Shearman & Sterling was called in to resolve one of the biggest corporate scandals this past year” and highlights our landmark work in US v. Newman, a matter that is “sure to stay in the firm’s history books” given that it is “likely to have significant consequences for insider trading cases for years to come.” The profile also highlights our work supporting financial institutions and our dedicated FCPA practice, as well as our extensive work on behalf of corporate clients.
