Shearman & Sterling Hosts Thanksgiving Dinner at Biblioteca Nacional de España in Madrid

The firm hosted a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner on November 15 at the Biblioteca Nacional de España, a venue that had only been used for a private event twice before since its opening in the 1800s. The event brought together many of the firm’s key clients and local counsel in Spain and provided networking opportunities for attendees, including 25 partners and counsel from offices in New York, Paris, London, Milan, Brussels and Frankfurt.

Manuel Orillac, a partner in the Capital Markets practice, delivered the opening remarks, followed by a delicious dinner in the Patronato room of the library that included turkey and all the trimmings. After closing remarks by Jacques McChesney, a partner in the European Capital Markets practice, guests were invited to visit the library after hours.

The evening was a huge success, thanks to the efforts of Jacques McChesney and Macarena Ruiz-Jarabo, Business Development Manager.
