London Office Charity Partnership Raises More Than £45,000 for Friendship Works

Our London office is delighted to have raised over £45,000 for our charity partner, Friendship Works, a London-based children's mentoring charity. Friendship Works aims to improve the emotional well-being, resilience and life chances of disadvantaged children and young people through long-term mentoring –working particularly with children facing multiple disadvantages including poverty, domestic violence and acting as young carers.

Over the course of our two-year partnership, employees from the London office raised money in multiple ways including bake sales, Christmas jumper day, charity quizzes, salary sacrifices and individual and group sponsorships and donations. Many of our lawyers have also provided much-needed pro bono support to Friendship Works and its parent charity Family Action.

"Your support has not only had a great impact on the numbers of young people we have been able to support in the last two years, but has helped us plan and grow for the future. As we begin to work on new projects, the support of our partnership has been a big factor in getting us to the point where we’re growing and expanding our reach for the future,” said Samantha Cooney, in-house counsel, Family Action.

We are very proud to have collaborated with and been able to support Friendship Works and the fantastic work that they do. The money raised will go towards building new mentoring relationships and helping more disadvantaged children get the adult support that they need.

The amount raised “is invaluable to the service, supporting 24 life-changing friendships between young people and their dedicated mentors, including recruitment and training of mentors, regular outings and dedicated supervision of the friendship,” explained Emma Sorrell, Fundraising Development Manager, Family Action.
The London Office Charity Partnership is an employee-led initiative devoted to providing fundraising and much-needed resources to local charities.
