The American Lawyer’s 2018 ‘A-List’

We were once again included on The American Lawyer’s A-List, which recognizes the top 20 law firms in the United States. The A-List honors firms based on a combination of financial and cultural factors: revenue per lawyer, pro bono commitment, associate satisfaction and racial diversity, with revenue per lawyer and pro bono given double weight. For the second year in a row, the list includes a score for gender diversity—more specifically, the percentage of women equity partners.

We ranked 19th on this year’s list, which is largely attributed to a strong pro bono score. This score factored in many of our pro bono matters and efforts over the last year, including our collaboration with the CJA to file a motion for default judgement in the case against the Assad regime for its targeted killing of journalist Marie Colvin; providing legal support for the Immigration “At-Your-Desk” Hotline Project and securing a trial victory for a client who brought Section 1983 claims for false arrest and excessive force against an officer of the Port Authority Police Department.

“It is an honor to once again be acknowledged by The American Lawyer for our excellent client service, work in the community, our inclusive culture and the professional development opportunities we offer everyone at the firm,” said Senior Partner David Beveridge.
