Shearman & Sterling represented the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) in connection with the financing of the construction of the Cotton Belt Corridor Regional Rail Project, a 26-mile passenger rail line extending from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to the Plano/Richardson area of Texas.  The financing was provided through a $908 million loan under the Railroad Rehabilitation & Improvement Financing (RRIF) program.
