Shearman & Sterling represented the family office owner of 315 Hudson Street, in New York City, in connection with a 280,000 rentable-square-foot lease transaction with Google LLC. The lease covers the entire 6th to 10th floors and part of the 5th floor of the building. As part of this transaction, the tenant will have rights to develop a multi-use terrace on the top of the building and will have use of a separate entrance.

The transaction is, per a company announcement, part of Google’s commitment to build a new campus in the Hudson Square area, which will be the primary location for its New York-based Global Business Organization. The company expects to begin moving into the space by 2020.
