Shearman & Sterling is pleased to announce that Terrence O’Donnell has joined its Asia Capital Markets practice as counsel. Terrence will be based in the Hong Kong office initially and relocate to Singapore later in the year.

Terrence’s practice focuses on equity and debt capital markets, M&A and private equity transactions. He has extensive experience advising companies in China and South East Asia across a wide range of sectors, including technology, media and telecommunications, financial services, healthcare, energy, consumer products and real estate. Terrence has spent over 10 years in Hong Kong and is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.

Terrence’s appointment follows Shearman & Sterling’s strong momentum of recent deal activity in Asia. The firm advised on securities offerings by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited, PT Lestari Banten Energi and Mongolia Mining Corporation and Energy Resources; Koolearn Technology’s and China Kepei Education Group’s HKSE IPOs; and over 10 bond offerings by Chinese issuers totaling more than $6.54 billion.
