Three Shearman & Sterling Partners Included in Crain’s Notable Women in Law List

Partners Doreen E. Lilienfeld (New York-Compensation, Governance & ERISA), Donna Parisi (New York-Derivatives & Structured Products) and Antonia Stolper (New York-Capital Markets) were selected for Crain’s second annual “Notable Women in Law” list, which was published on December 31 in Crain’s New York Business. This feature is a celebration of lawyers who have impacted New York City in major ways. It honors the achievements of the brightest and boldest legal minds; those with both distinguished careers and exceptional civic and philanthropic activities.

Doreen is the Governance & Advisory Practice Group Leader and the Team Leader of the Compensation, Governance and ERISA practice. For more than two decades, Doreen has focused her practice on compensation-related matters in all manner of transactions, including the design and implementation of retention and incentive plans, disclosure and regulatory compliance and employment negotiations for C-Suite executives. For the past 16 years, Doreen has spearheaded the publication of the firm’s celebrated survey of the compensation-related corporate governance practices of the largest 100 companies, which provides in-depth analyses of practices and trends impacting corporate governance. Doreen is also an active member of the Lawyers Alliance for New York, a pro bono clearing house for nonprofits throughout the city of New York.

Donna is the Global Head of Shearman & Sterling’s Finance Business Unit and one of the firm’s Financial Services Industry Leaders. A skilled practitioner and negotiator, she advises clients on derivatives, structured products, securitization, capital markets and commodities matters. Donna also spearheads the firm’s FinTech Foundry program, which supports the activities of the firm’s clients in the financial technology industry. Donna has long been a champion for the full inclusion of women in the workplace. She plays a leading role in Shearman & Sterling’s global Women’s Initiative, which enhances the firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusiveness. She also supports the Women’s Initiative for Success, Excellence and Retention, the firm’s associate-run inclusion network for women.

Antonia is the Americas Regional Managing Partner, leads the Latin America practice group and is a member of Shearman & Sterling’s Capital Markets-Americas practice. She is highly regarded for her work with Latin American corporate and sovereign issuers and their underwriters in debt and equity securities offerings. Since joining the firm in 1991, Antonia  has advised a number of Latin American issuers on their ongoing SEC reporting requirements, compliance issues and corporate governance matters. A member of the Shearman & Sterling Pro Bono Committee, Antonia has worked on the firm’s efforts to provide free legal assistance to thousands of unaccompanied minors fleeing violence in Central America who have resettled in the New York City region. She is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Cyrus R. Vance Center of the New York City Bar Association.
