Shearman & Sterling Develops Comparative Cybersecurity Memorandum for Burmese Government

The Burmese government is now in the process of drafting a new cybersecurity law.

Shearman & Sterling prepared a survey comparing the cybersecurity laws of various countries to help Public International Law & Policy Group’s (PILPG) clients advocate for an effective cybersecurity framework in Burma. The memorandum summarizes existing legislations and recent developments in cybersecurity practices in Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand.

PILPG provides legal assistance to pro-democracy groups, civil society organizations, and ethnic minorities on the peace process, rule of law, constitutional reform, and advocacy strategies to promote legal reforms.
