PILnet Webinar: NGOs’ Contracts and Force Majeure Amidst COVID-19

Shearman & Sterling’s Hong Kong team partnered with PILnet, a global public interest law organization, on a webinar titled “NGOs’ Contracts and Force Majeure Amidst COVID-19” to provide answers to the challenges nonprofit organizations face in this crisis on a pro bono basis. The webinar took place on May 22 and addressed concerns, such as complying with contractual obligations when cancelling or postponing events and programs, delivering tasks or programs as required by the funding agreement, and preparing for an unpredictable future.

The Shearman & Sterling team included associates Carmen Yuen (Hong Kong-Capital Markets) and Iris Priddy (Hong Kong-Investment Funds) and legal assistant Jennifer Hou (Hong Kong-Capital Markets).
