Shearman & Sterling Announces Developments in Asia Including Partner Promotion

Global Law Firm Shearman & Sterling has strengthened its offering in Asia culminating with the election of prominent international project finance specialist Jean-Louis Neves Mandelli to the partnership, effective immediately. Jean-Louis' promotion follows the recent promotion of Joe Freeman to counsel and is concurrent with the imminent relocation of international energy counsel Angela Heywood Bible from Houston to Singapore. All of the lawyers are members of the firm’s award-winning Project Development & Finance practice group.

Jean-Louis advises leading lenders (including DFIs and ECAs) and sponsors on all aspects of international project development and financing across the energy and infrastructure sector. Most recently he has focused on LNG to power projects, including the award-winning Jawa 1 and GNA projects, and renewable energy, including the Super Six wind and Cirata floating solar projects. Recently promoted counsel Joe Freeman will work alongside Jean-Louis. Joe focuses on project development and M&A in the energy sector as well as the commercial aspects of LNG to power projects.

They will be joined later this year by counsel Angela Heywood Bible. She has a wide range of experience in the international energy sector, with a particular focus on upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas transactions. Prior to joining Shearman & Sterling, Angela spent several years as in-house counsel at a multinational energy company.
