Shearman & Sterling counsel Maria Marulanda Larsen (New York-Capital Markets) has been named to Latin America’s Rising Legal Stars by Latinvex. Maria is one of 25 attorneys named from international law firms doing business in the region.

Latinvex’s Rising Legal Stars were chosen based on the scope and prominence of their work and their future potential. The list includes five partners, 16 associates and four counsel from 20 different law firms.

Maria was recognized for her work in the region, which most recently includes advising Colombian state oil company Ecopetrol on its $2 billion bond as well as advising the bookrunners in Celeo Redes’ and APG’s $1.1 billion acquisition of Colbún Transmisión and the bookrunners for Alpha Capital Acquisition Company’s $230 million IPO, a special purpose acquisition company.
