Shearman & Sterling was the winner of four PFI Awards, as announced by Project Finance International. The PFI Awards honor achievement and ingenuity in the global project finance market.

The firm was recognized for its work on a broad range of global projects during the past year across North America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa:

• Global Deal of the Year: project financing for a $12 billion world scale integrated gasification and combined cycle energy project within the Jazan refinery and terminal complex in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

• Americas Renewables Deal: credit facilities to develop, construct, finance and operate an approximately 185 MW/565 MW-hr battery energy storage facility, located in Kapolei, Hawaii.

• Asia-Pacific Solar Deal: development and financing of a 145MW floating solar PV project over the Cirata reservoir in Indonesia, the largest project of its kind in South East Asia.

• Middle East and Africa, African Power Deal: $652.3 million financing of the Central Termica de Temane power project in Mozambique.

The awards will be presented at the PFI Awards Dinner in London on Monday May 9, 2022. Considered one of the most prestigious events in the global project finance calendar, the ceremony will include some of the world’s most senior and successful market professionals gathered to celebrate industry excellence.
