John Inglis is Of Counsel in the Project Development & Finance practice.
He focuses on the development and financing of a range of energy and natural resource projects, including in relation to power generation, metals, petrochemical, refinery, LNG and upstream oil and gas projects.
John represents sponsors and financial institutions (including export credit agencies, multilateral and development financial institutions and Islamic financial institutions).

- ECAs (including K-EXIM, K-SURE, Euler-Hermes, China Exim and Sinosure), MLAs and commercial lenders on the development and financing of a $5 billion 1,200MW Balkhash coal-fired power project in Kazakhstan
- K-SURE and the commercial lenders in relation to the development and financing of the Bahrain LNG terminal
- Sasol and Electricidade de Mocambique E.P. as sponsors in connection with the development and financing of a 175MW gas engine power project in Mozambique involving financing provided by IFC, Proparco and FMO and also involving a MIGA-covered facility provided by ABSA
- SACE and commercial lenders in relation to the $1.2 billion financing of the MIDOR refinery upgrade project in Egypt
- AFDB on the development and financing of the Lamu coal-fired power project in Kenya
- JBIC and the commercial lenders on the development and financing of the $3 billion 2,520MW and 136.5MIGD Facility D IWPP in Qatar
- Masdar, Taaleri and DEG as sponsors on the development and financing of the Dolovo 158MW wind farm in Serbia involving IFC and EBRD
- Egyptian Refining Company on the $3.7 billion project financing (the largest closed-project financing in Africa), involving K-EXIM, JBIC, NEXI, AfDB, FMO, EIB and other lenders
- The Dow Chemical Company in the financing of the $20 billion Sadara Petrochemicals Plant being carried out with Saudi Aramco in Jubail. The project involved IDB, K-EXIM, K-SURE, Euler Hermes, Coface, U.S. Ex-Im and ECGD among others, and a SAR7.5 billion sukuk issuance and Wakala and Procurement Islamic facilities
- FMO as arranger and a consortium of international and Nepalese lenders on the financing for the 82 MW Lower Solu run of the river hydropower project in the Solukhumbu district in Nepal
- Standard Microgrid in relation to the development and financing of containerized solar PV/battery power generation units in Zambia
- Sasol in relation to various matters in connection with the development of a gas-to-liquids project in Mozambique
- Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES), the national development bank of Brazil, in connection with the financing of a portfolio of drilling and production platforms owned by Sete Brasil Participações SA (Sete Brasil) and operated by Sete Brasil and other international operators
