Under French law, companies listed on the stock exchange were already obligated to include environmental information in their annual report based on the "NRE" law of May 15, 2001. A new decree dated April 24, 2012, which is part of the "Grenelle" reform of environmental regulations, extends such obligations to some non-listed companies. The environmental information to be provided is listed by the April 24, 2012 Decree and varies depending whether the company is listed or not. Such reporting will become mandatory in 2013, 2014 or 2015 depending on the size of non-listed companies.
En France, les sociétés cotées avaient déjà pour obligation, depuis la loi n° 2001-420 du 15 mai 2001 « NRE », d’inclure un certain nombre d’informations environnementales dans leur rapport annuel. Le nouveau décret du 24 avril 2012, qui fait suite au Grenelle de l'Environnement, étend cette obligation à certaines entreprises non cotées. Les informations environnementales devant être fournies sont listées dans le décret du 24 avril 2012 et varient selon le caractère coté ou non coté de la société concernée. Pour les entreprises non cotées concernées, l'obligation de reporting s'appliquera dès 2013, 2014 ou 2015, en fonction de la taille de la société.
